Our team is still collaborating (remotely) to make water independence a possibility for all.
The current restrictions of COVID-19 prevent relief organizations from providing aid to the countries which need it most. Travel bans and import restrictions hinder the efforts of foreign organizations and prevent the alleviation of stress in communities which are still reeling from hurricane damage. This pandemic has shown us that it is of utmost importance that communities are self-sufficient in the wake of disaster; if areas like The Bahamas had access to resources, like solar powered water filtration systems, within their own country, they wouldn't be left to struggle when unforeseen events (like travel restrictions) happen. In order to truly empower communities to be resilient, they should be given resources which are renewable and remain within their community.
